Gov. Mike Easley has called on communities across the state to conserve dwindling water supplies. Although Wilmington currently has an adequate supply of water, there is no significant rainfall predicted through the winter so your conservation efforts now will prevent harsher restrictions in the coming spring. Some of the prohibited activities during this restriction are:
Watering lawns, grass, shrubbery, trees, flowers and vegetable gardens except by hand-held hoses, containers or drip irrigation systems.
Washing any type of mobile equipment such as cars, trucks, trailers, boats or airplanes.
Using water for any ornamental fountain, pool or pond.
We are trying to put together a history of our corner of Wilmington. Do you have any stories or photos of the way Linden Ridge, Silva Terra or Monkey Junction might have looked in years gone by. If so please drop us a line!
Do you have a good map of the Linden Ridge streets we can put on our maps page?
If so please e-mail our webmaster at the above address today!
